The beginning of The Acela

ACELA INAUGURAL TRAIN. Amtrak executives and others were on board the Acela express which made its debut today, Nov 16,2000. The trainset is seen here in Secaucus,NJ about to enter the Hudson river tunnel to Penn station at 12:15 PM.

Metro North runs NYC painted FL9's up the Hudson

In Mid October of 1999, Metro North had two of it's FL9's painted in old NYC scheme. One unit is currently at Danbury Rail Museum.

USPS Mail Train Special

The USPS train made it's way from Danbury, CT down the New Haven Line to New Rochelle, on Friday, September 15, 2000. Afterwards the train, known as AmtrakX100, headed across THE HELL GATE BRIDGE accompanied by an E-60, because diesel is not allowed in Penn Station.

Monticello Railway Museum ran two photo specials. One was a mixed freight with Wabash F-7 #1189 and the other was a passenger train with Canadian National FPA-4 #6789.

Reading FP7's

Reading FP 7's at Trenton, NJ, Yardley,Pa, and Landsdowne, Pa respectively. One of the above photos appeared on Trains magazine Online shortly thereafter.

Brodhead, Wisconsin Depot Days

Wisconsin Southern provided short passenger train rides using their business train for the depot days celebration.
The short trips ran every hour for everyone to enjoy.
